Over 61,000 records of children patients were stolen

Cincinnati hospital has recently reported the loss if over 61,000 entries of children patients.
One of the employees was stolen a laptop with names and medical records from his car.
The hospital's spokesperson stated that the laptop was protected with a password but the data was not encrypted. This means that anybody who had access to this computer could read the data stored on it and use it for example for blackmail.
The spokesperson also stated that the police were informed about the case and the hospital has also taken steps towards sufficient protection of all computers and disks used by employees in case of theft or.
